Wahoo are streamlined, fast-moving predators found in tropical and subtropical waters, typically at 20–60 m depth. Silvery-blue above and silver below, with distinctive vertical bars on the flanks, they reach around 2 m and are built for speed—capable of explosive bursts that make them a prized catch. Solitary or in small groups, wahoo hunt schooling fish with sharp teeth and aggressive strikes; divers may encounter them in open water or around reef edges, where they appear and vanish with remarkable quickness.
