Tigertail Seahorse

The Tigertail Seahorse is a small, cryptic species found in shallow seagrass beds and mangrove roots across Southeast Asian waters. Named for the dark bands that stripe its prehensile tail, this seahorse rarely exceeds 15 cm and blends seamlessly among seagrass fronds. Like all seahorses, males brood eggs in a pouch until live young are released; spotting a pair requires patience and a careful eye among the vegetation.
