Sweep

The sweep is a silvery, laterally compressed fish found in small schools near rocky reefs and kelp forests, typically at depths of 5–30 metres. It has a distinctive high-backed body profile and a small mouth suited to picking small crustaceans and algae from reef surfaces. Sweeps are curious but wary, often darting away when approached directly; patient divers who hold position may watch them resume feeding.
