Striped Boarfish

The Striped Boarfish is a small, compressed fish with a distinctly pointed snout and vertical stripes running along its body. It inhabits rocky and reef areas at moderate depths, where it forages among crevices and rubble for small crustaceans and other benthic prey. Solitary or in loose groups, this boarfish moves deliberately through its habitat, using its elongated snout to probe into tight spaces. It is uncommonly encountered by divers but recognisable by its striped pattern and characteristic pig-like profile.
