The six-banded angelfish is a member of the pomacanthid family found in Indo-Pacific coral reef environments. It reaches around 23 cm and displays distinctive vertical stripes across its body. Like other pomacanthids, it feeds on sponges and tunicates, and pairs are territorial on the reef. Divers encounter this species on drop-offs and reef slopes where it moves deliberately among corals and crevices.
