This small damselfish belongs to the anemonefish group and lives in close association with host anemones, particularly Entacmaea quadricolor. It reaches about 10 cm and is found across the Indo-Pacific, from the Great Barrier Reef to the Philippines and beyond. Like other clownfish, it exhibits a mutualistic relationship with its anemone host, gaining shelter in exchange for removing parasites and dead tissue. The species is common in the aquarium trade and readily breeds in captivity.
