The sicklefin lemon shark is a slender, bronze-grey requiem shark named for its distinctively curved pectoral fins. It inhabits shallow coastal waters and estuaries across the Indo-Pacific, often in murky conditions where visibility is poor. Divers may encounter this species near the seabed or cruising through mangrove channels, where it hunts small fish and crustaceans. Like other lemon sharks, it is viviparous and gives birth to live young in nursery grounds—a reproductive strategy that makes populations vulnerable to overfishing.
