Rock Cook

The Rock Cook is a small, colourful wrasse found in rocky and kelp habitats across the northeastern Atlantic. Adults reach around 20–25 cm and display variable colouration—typically greenish or reddish with darker markings that intensify during breeding. They forage boldly in open water and among rocks, hunting small crustaceans and molluscs, and are known to perform cleaning behaviour on larger fish. A common sight on shallow reefs from the low tide line down to 30 m or more.
