The Reaper Cuttlefish is a large cephalopod reaching up to 1.4 m in length, found in deeper waters where it hunts small fish and crustaceans under cover of darkness. Its body is elongated and streamlined, adapted for life in the mid-water column or near the seafloor. Like other cuttlefish, it relies on rapid colour and pattern changes to communicate and hunt, though little is known of its behaviour in the wild due to its deep-water habitat.
