Pederson Cleaner Shrimp

Pederson cleaner shrimp are small, translucent shrimp with bold white stripes and red antennae, reaching only 5 cm long. Found on coral reefs at depths of 5–40 m, they are famous for their cleaning behaviour: they set up 'cleaning stations' where fish visit to have parasites and dead skin removed. Divers often spot them on anemones or coral heads, recognisable by their deliberate movements and the way fish queue patiently nearby. They are social and may gather in loose groups.
