The Packhorse Rock Lobster is a spiny lobster found in southern Australian waters, typically at depths between 20 and 80 metres around rocky reefs and kelp forests. It resembles other southern rock lobsters but is distinguished by its robust build and reddish-brown colouration. Like its relatives, it is nocturnal and emerges from crevices to forage on the seafloor; divers spotting one are most likely to do so on night dives or in deeper, shadier terrain.
