Pacific Seahorse

The Pacific Seahorse is the largest seahorse species, reaching up to 24 cm in length. Found in shallow coastal waters from the Gulf of California down to Peru, it frequents seagrass beds, mangroves, and rocky reefs where it anchors itself with its prehensile tail. Like all seahorses, males incubate eggs in a brood pouch and give birth to fully formed juveniles. Watch for them moving slowly among seagrass, often in pairs or small groups.
