Pacific Creolefish

The Pacific Creolefish is a small, sleek grouper that forms loose aggregations around reef structures and drop-offs throughout the tropical Pacific. Its streamlined body and forked tail distinguish it from stockier grouper relatives, and its coloration typically shifts between reddish and purplish tones depending on light and mood. These fish hover in the water column hunting small fish and crustaceans, and are often seen darting quickly when disturbed.
