Pacific Boxfish

The Pacific Boxfish is a chunky, cube-shaped fish with a bony carapace that gives it an almost toy-like appearance underwater. Males are dark blue or black with yellow spots and fins; females are brown with white spots. These slow, deliberate swimmers inhabit coral and rocky reefs from the Indo-Pacific region, typically at depths of 5–40 metres. They browse the seafloor for small invertebrates and algae, and are generally solitary or found in pairs.
