Orca

Orcas are unmistakable apex predators, recognisable by their bold black-and-white pattern and prominent dorsal fin. These highly social cetaceans hunt in coordinated pods and are found in all ocean waters, though they favour cooler seas. In temperate and polar regions, divers may encounter them during open-water diving or from the surface. Different populations specialise in hunting fish, seals, or other marine mammals—a hunting sophistication rarely seen in the ocean.
