Mobula Ray

The mobula ray is a small eagle ray found in tropical and temperate waters worldwide, often in small schools near the surface. It has dark upperparts, white underparts, and distinctive head fins that funnel food into its mouth as it swims. Mobula rays feed on plankton and small fish, and are known for their dramatic leaping behaviour, sometimes launching several metres out of the water. Deeper-diving sites may encounter them cruising open water, though they are most commonly spotted during daytime in shallow bays.
