Marine Iguana

The marine iguana is the world's only seafaring lizard, found exclusively in the Galápagos Islands. Dark, rough-skinned, and stocky, it typically reaches 60–100 cm in length. These reptiles dive to rocky reefs and kelp beds to feed on algae, often resting on shore in large groups between foraging trips. Males are noticeably larger and more brightly coloured than females, especially during breeding season.
