Highhat

The highhat is a slender drum fish recognizable by its dark stripes running obliquely across the body and a notably elongated snout. It inhabits shallow coastal waters and reefs, typically staying near sandy or rubble bottoms where it forages for small crustaceans and larvae. Divers may spot these fish in small groups or singly, often hovering close to the seafloor; they are generally wary but approachable if approached slowly.
