This small damselfish reaches about 9 cm and displays a striking electric blue body with yellow fins and mouth—a vivid combination that makes it stand out on busy reef sections. Found across Indo-Pacific coral reefs, typically at depths between 5 and 40 metres, it tends to hover near branching corals where it darts among polyps to feed on plankton. Like other pomacentrids, it is territorial and aggressive for its size, fiercely defending small patches of reef.
