Galápagos Shark

The Galápagos shark is a stocky, grey requiem shark found in tropical and subtropical waters, most famously around the Galápagos Islands but also in other island systems and open ocean. It reaches about 1.8 m and is recognisable by its blunt snout, relatively short pectoral fins, and dark-tipped dorsal and caudal fins. These sharks are bold hunters, often seen patrolling reefs and drop-offs in small groups; they will investigate divers with frank curiosity and can be assertive around food.
