Galápagos Sea Lion

The Galápagos Sea Lion is a stocky pinniped endemic to the Galápagos Islands, where it hauls out on rocky shores and shallow reefs. Males are noticeably larger and darker than females, with a prominent forehead. Divers often encounter them in small groups along the islands' coasts; they are naturally curious and relatively unafraid, though they should never be approached directly. These social animals are vocal on land and agile hunters underwater, feeding on fish and squid.
