Rank
Species

The Galápagos Bullhead Shark is a small, stocky shark with a distinctive blunt snout and prominent bony ridges above the eyes. Found in the waters around the Galápagos Islands, it favours rocky reefs and sandy bottoms at moderate depths. Nocturnal and bottom-dwelling, it hunts molluscs and crustaceans using its powerful jaws and grinding teeth. Despite its small range, this species remains poorly studied in the wild.
