False Killer Whale

False killer whales are sleek, dark cetaceans that hunt in coordinated pods, sometimes numbering in the hundreds. They are smaller and more slender than true killer whales, reaching around 6 metres in length, with a rounded head and no prominent dorsal fin ridge. Found in deep tropical and subtropical waters worldwide, they are active, fast swimmers that feed on fish and squid. Their social structure is tight-knit; pods often stay together for life and may strand together if one member is in distress.
