The Demon Stinger is a venomous scorpionfish found on sandy and muddy seabeds, typically at depths between 20 and 100 metres. It is cryptically coloured and patterned to blend with the substrate, making it easy to overlook—a hazard worth remembering, as the dorsal spines carry venom. The fish rests motionless on the bottom, relying on camouflage to ambush small prey that wander too close.
