The bronze whaler is a streamlined, bronze-grey shark found in warm temperate and subtropical waters worldwide. A fast, active hunter, it ranges from the surface to depths beyond 100 metres, often patrolling the open water but also moving into coastal zones. Schools of bronze whalers are common, and they feed on small fish and cephalopods with the speed and coordination that pack hunters bring to their pursuit. Divers most often encounter them in clear open water or along drop-offs.
