The bluestripe fusilier is a slender, silvery fusilier recognizable by a bright blue stripe running along its upper body and cheek. Found in small to medium schools over coral and rocky reefs, often in the 15–40 m range, it feeds on small fish and plankton in open water during the day before retreating to shelter at night. Schools tend to shift position with light conditions, making them a reliable indicator of reef structure and water movement.
