The Bluehead Wrasse is a small, vibrant wrasse found on shallow coral and rocky reefs throughout the western Atlantic. Adults display the species' namesake bright blue head, though juveniles and females wear yellow and white livery. These wrasses are active hunters, darting rapidly through reef crevices in search of small invertebrates and fish larvae. They're among the most abundant reef fish in shallow water and often approach divers out of curiosity.
