Blue Moki

The blue moki is a stocky, deep-bodied fish with a blunt snout and small mouth, coloured in shades of blue-grey that deepen with age. Found in cooler southern waters around rocky reefs and kelp forests, typically between 10 and 40 metres, it feeds on small crustaceans and molluscs picked from crevices. Despite its modest size, the blue moki is a prized food fish and a rewarding encounter for divers exploring temperate reef systems.
